Prince Nikolaos’ first solo show, which received critical praise, was on view at the Hellenic Museum in Melbourne in 2018. It is a presentation of the artist’s 3 most important themes: Horizons, Fluidity and Marbles.
His images purposefully show a different aspect from the blue and white Cycladic themes most people associate with the land. His are abstract depictions of a journey through Greek waters. The nostalgia he experienced, while living abroad, is apparent in his photographs. His works awaken in his audience that yearning for a return. When asked whether his own return has been achieved, he says ‘Life itself is a journey and a process, it is never completed’.
